Making a Difference at True North Polaris House

At True North Polaris House, grants play a crucial role in ensuring we can continue providing transformative support to young adults transitioning out of the foster care system. With the backing of grants from local and state organizations, we address the critical needs of our residents, create a stable foundation for their futures, and advance our mission to empower self-sufficiency and community engagement.

Key Grants & Their Impact

City of Boulder Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)

In 2019, we received $250,000 to support the purchase of Polaris House, securing its role as a transitional home for vulnerable youth. This grant helped us transition from renting to owning the property, ensuring long-term stability for our operations.

Boulder County Worthy Cause Regional Collaboration for Human Services

Awarded $50,000 in 2020, this funding was pivotal in reducing the debt on Polaris House, allowing us to focus resources on operational costs and program development.

Partnership with Boulder Housing Partners (BHP)

BHP supported us by selling Polaris House at a significantly reduced market value and providing an interest-free loan. Their ongoing collaboration ensures that we can operate in a property uniquely designated for group home use, a rare asset in Boulder County.
